I'm AshA māmā of four and a lifestyle photographer based in Hamilton, New Zealand.
I have been a photographer for over a decade now and have since shifted my focus to documenting wāhine. Whether you're in the thick of motherhood or starting a new business venture, I would love to document your season.
I have always been drawn to photography and expressing myself through art. I spent hours in the darkroom developing film as a teenager, the darkroom was my safe space and creative outlet.
I then gained a Media Arts degree and majored in photography.
I was the girl behind the camera but never liked being in front of it.
It wasn't until I had kids and realised I had these beautiful photos of my husband with our children, but never had any of myself. I then made it my goal to try and be in the photos, and document the messy, beautiful, sometimes lonely, crazy, magical parts that is, Motherhood.
My photography has since been centered around motherhood, the sacred space and the journey that it takes us on. I have fallen in love with documenting the māmā in the newborn haze to the creative, business māmā starting out a new venture trying to find her feet again.
